As headteachers transition in and out of their roles, it’s crucial that your school's digital accounts, contact information, and administrative records are promptly updated.
This guide is designed to help you navigate head teacher changes in your Perspective Lite account. Depending on the circumstances, you can refer to the relevant scenario in this guide to update the account.
The headteacher has left the school
Please email our support team at perspectivesupport@angelsolutions.co.uk. Include the new headteacher’s name, email address, and your school’s DfE number.
We will then provide you with the relevant contact at the Local Authority to validate the change. This is for data protection purposes, as LAs are more informed about schools and changes.
Once we receive confirmation from the LA, our support team will change the account, reset the password and send an activation email to the newly registered user.
The headteacher's email address has changed
If the headteacher knows their login details, they can navigate to Settings (cog icon) > Account Settings. After updating the email, click ‘Save Personal Details’.
If the headteacher does not know their login details but still has access to their old email address, use this link to request a password reset for the old email.
If the headteacher does not know their login details and has no access to their old email contact perspectivesupport@angelsolutions.co.uk with the school DfE number and new information.
The headteacher is leaving in the future
Prior to leaving, the headteacher should assign the new head.
If the new headteacher is already employed by the school, you can check if they are on the account already via Settings > Manage Users. If they are, email perspectivesupport@angelsolutions.co.uk, and we can upgrade them to the headteacher role.
If they are not already on the system, the existing head should navigate to Settings (cog icon) > Account Settings and update their details before clicking ‘Save Personal Details’.
The headteacher has forgotten their password
Users can reset their password by clicking Forgotten Password on the Perspective home screen. For more information, refer to this help guide.
Multi-Account logins
There are circumstances in which you may require access to multiple schools, whether you're an Executive Headteacher or working across various schools in another capacity. Rather than having numerous separate accounts under different emails, we can easily merge your schools into a single login, saving you time.
To merge accounts, you must first be set up on all schools (you’ll need to use different/fake emails for each, as they can’t be used more than once). Once the school admins have done this, contact perspectivesupport@angelsolutions.co.uk with all the info, and we’ll take it from there!
If you are unable to be set up on all the accounts for another reason, contact our support team.
Note: For security purposes, we strongly recommend that each user account is set up using a named individual email address wherever possible; where a role-based mailbox is used (e.g., head@ or principal@), it should be owned and used by a single named account holder and not shared between staff.
