The degree of functionality a user has within Perspective Lite is determined by the settings on their account.
The headteacher is the lead user on an account and is created when the account is first set up by our Support Team. The headteacher can then create and assign account Admins who can also manage other users' permissions.
Your local authority can also request additional admin accounts for Perspective Lite. These requests will always trigger an email to the headteacher for confirmation before they are created by our Support Team.
Local Authority / Data Permissions
A staff member's permissions matrix can be found on their User Details page, available via the Settings icon. These permissions allow you to determine the areas that staff members have access to.
Once you arrive at the Permissions screen, you will see a combination of the following options.
Please note that the permissions you see here depend on the modules your Local Authority has activated for your school. If you believe you are missing a data module, please contact your LA.
Data controls access to the Real-Time Data module (attainment data bar charts) and school-level data in the Reports module.
Pupil Level Data controls access to pupil-level data within the Reports and Insights modules.
LA / Org Documents controls access to documents sent to you by the Local Authority, including confidential files sent directly to users. It also controls whether or not someone can send files back to your LA, provided your Local Authority subscribes to the File Returns module.
Visits control access to the records of visits sent by your Local Authority.
Admin grants someone the permission to add, edit and set permissions for all other users, except the headteacher. Admins cannot edit their own permissions.
There are four permission options that you can give users access to.
Off: The user cannot access this area of the system
Read: The user has basic access to the area. This gives them viewing rights only (for example, Read access will allow a user to see that a visit has occurred, but they won't be able to download the report).
Action/Admin: Which option is available depends on the module it's linked to. Action or Admin is the highest setting, this grants the user full access to the module and all downloadable content.
